The main rail operator for Suffolk and Essex has published research showing many customers are unaware of the “significant savings” available through different ticket types.

Greater Anglia found more than a fifth of people are not aware of the various ticket deals on offer - and 40% did not know about “special ticket offers”, such as group travel or journeys to London.

“There’s some great opportunities for travellers across the region to save money,” said Martin Moran, Greater Anglia commercial director. “With our research showing that around two thirds of travellers have never used a special ticket offer, we are urging people to spend just a little time researching the best train ticket for their travel needs, and to take advantage of the many deals available.”

Greater Anglia said the top money-savers were available through Group Save, Advance Fare and Off Peak Returns.
