A man riding a quad bike was involved in an accident today which led to the road being closed for the rest of the day.
The incident took place in Ardleigh Road, Great Bromley, just before 4pm.
The man was riding a black quad bike which left the road and resulted in him suffering a number of injuries.
He was taken to hospital by paramedics and is believed to be in a life threatening condition.
Officers remain on scene and the road is closed so people are asked to avoid it.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
