Great Cornard: Four burglaries over weekend are linked, say police

POLICE are urging people to remain vigilant after four burglaries were reported in Great Cornard at the weekend.

Two of the incidents occurred in Head Lane. The first happened sometime between midday on Saturday 16 and 11.50pm on Sunday, February 17, when the rear door of a property was forced.

A search of the property was made but it is not known at this stage if anything was stolen.

The second incident occurred between 1pm and 10.50pm on Sunday. The rear window of a property was forced and entry was gained.

A number of items were stolen from within including two gold rings, a gold necklace and a gold bracelet.

A third burglary is believed to have occurred in The Drift between 5.50pm and 8.20pm Sunday.

A rear window to the property was forced and entry was gained. A search of the property was made and items including a 26in Samsung TV were stolen.

Finally, an attempted burglary was reported in The Pot Kilns and is believed to have occurred between 8am and 9pm on Sunday. Attempts were made to force a rear door but no entry was gained.

A police spokesman said: “Officers are linking the above four crimes and are reminding residents to remain vigilant.”
