A Great Cornard computer programmer who downloaded more than 150 indecent images of children has been given a suspended prison sentence.

Police officers went to Stephen Pinsker’s home in March and seized a number of items, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

Pinsker was frank with the officers and made full admissions about the offences, said Joe Bird, prosecuting.

Pinsker, 52, of Bures Road, Great Cornard, admitted three offences of making indecent images of children and one of possessing extreme pornographic images.

He was given an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and a 30-day rehabilitation order.

He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for ten years and made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for the same period.

The court heard 33 of the indecent images were in the most serious level A category, 32 were level B and 106 were level C. There were also 11 extreme pornographic images.

The court heard Pinsker, who has no previous convictions, had been using cocaine and was remorseful for what he had done.
