Painter and sculptor Maggi Hambling declared the Alde Valley Spring Festival open for 2014.

She will be exhibiting some of her own work, alongside that of other artists, over the coming weeks in Great Glemham.

The opening was followed by a lunch of Alde Valley lamb, from Great Glemham Farms, and local vegetables cooked by Peter Harrison.

The festival will feature farm suppers, artist talks and a ‘pop-up’ patisserie.

Jason Gathorne-Hardy will be welcoming visitors to White House Farm, in the Upper Alde Valley, for the celebration of food, farming and the arts, with a festival service to be held on Sunday, April 27 at All Saints Church.
