Two trains were delayed after a van came into contact with a bridge beneath the track at Needham Market.

The 12.47pm service from Cambridge to Ipswich and the 1.58pm service from Ipswich to Peterborough were delayed after a road vehicle collided with a railway bridge at Needham Market.

A spokesperson for Greater Anglia confirmed that Network Rail engineers attended and conducted an inspection at the scene, where the bridge was found to be structurally safe.

Nobody is thought to have been injured in the collision.

Trains are now running as normal.
