The railway line between Ipswich and Felixstowe will be closed for the rest of today due to “more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time”.

Greater Anglia announced it had needed to cancel this evening’s timetable on the line and operate a bus replacement service.

“Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Ipswich and Felixstowe all lines are closed,” a spokesman said.

“Train services running to and from these stations have been cancelled. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.”

Specific train service alterations can be found at Greater Anglia’s website.

Extra train services will be running to and from Bury St Edmunds for the annual Christmas Fayre which begins tomorrow, Thursday, November 22.
