Two organisations promoting sustainability in a Suffolk town marked their 10th anniversary on Saturday with back to back celebrations.
Greener Fram, which highlights environmental issues and promotes ways of reducing energy consumption, celebrated the occasion with a cake cutting at its monthly “Swap and Mend” session at the unitarian Meeting House in Framlingham. And there was more cakes to be had as Framlingham celebrated its 10th year as a Fair Trade Town at a coffee morning in St Michael’s Church.
Greener Fram has led projects to deliver a “sustainable Framlingham”, including a community allotments a Local Exchange Trading System and a new food share initiative.
As a “Fair Trade Town”, Framlignham has celebrated Fair Trade Fortnight for the past 10 years, supporting help producers in developing countries achieve better trading conditions.
