The fire service has released a casualty who became trapped in a car following a crash in Greenstead Green, near Halstead.
Two fire crews from Halstead were sent to the accident which happened at about 5.30pm in Stisted Road and involved two cars.
Crews used specialist cutting equipment to release the man who was trapped by 7.11pm.
A spokesman for Essex police said the ambulance service has alerted them to the crash, which involved a Renault and a Vauxhall.
He said no life-threatening injuries had been sustained.
