SPEEDWAY ace Joe Haines is to return to competitive Rockets action this Saturday almost three months after dislocating two vertebrae.
It had been feared the Bolton Wonder would miss the rest of this season after suffering his injury during the World Under-21 qualifier in May at Rye.
After which he had to wear a halo device to stabilise his neck for two month.
The race fitness of Haines will be fully tested on Saturday by eight programmed rides.
This is because the Rockets have a double header against King's Lynn Stars and Birmingham Brummies in Hoddesdon.
Joe's first comeback from injury came on Monday as a reserve in the Gary Peterson Memorial meeting.
The teenager scored two points from four rides in the race held at Wolverhampton.
