A THEATRE company has been left perplexed by the theft of a still-life installation designed to promote a touring play.

The combined haul, comprising a bedroom chair, pair of men’s and women’s shoes, single black stocking, book of poems by WB Yeats and a love letter written in green ink, went missing from Bridge Street, Halesworth, on Saturday.

Rachel Kellett, who put the display together to advertise the Open Space Theatre company’s production of Betrayal by Harold Pinter at The Cut on May 26, said: “Foolishly, I left the display out to catch the Saturday High Tide audience in the evening. I should have brought it in earlier but never imagined it would be stolen.

“I felt a bit sheepish about reporting it but the police were very sympathetic. It would be amazing if the items were returned.”

The local safer neighbourhood team are investigating the theft and have asked anyone with information to call 101.
