A bridge in Halesworth has been found to be unsafe and has closed with immediate effect.
Suffolk County and Waveney District Councillor Tony Goldson said early inspection of the footbridge, on Rectory Lane, showed a strong possibility of the metal beams being in a state of disrepair.
A full inspection of the bridge is due to take place on Thursday.
