Police are appealing for information following an incident in Halstead where a man was assaulted with a metal bar.

He received injuries to his hand as a result of the attack which happened at around 1am on Friday, November 29 in the Parsonage Street, Evans Court area.

The man, in his 20s and from Halstead, had to be taken to hospital for treatment. He also had his mobile phone broken.

Any witnesses or anybody with any information is asked to call Braintree CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Two men, aged 23 and 53, and from Halstead have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and criminal damage in connection with this incident. They have been released on police bail until February 20.
