POLICE are today calling for witnesses to come forward after a car was seen doing a handbrake turn into oncoming traffic.

The blue Vauxhall Corsa was seen driving dangerously at about 3.15pm on January 19 in Main Road, Harwich, before making off down Birch Avenue.

It was later found abandoned in Hordle Place, where police seized it for having no insurance.

Pc Richard Bunce said: “The car was also seen to nearly run over two students who were walking along Manor Road.

“I am very keen to speak to anyone who recognises the description of the vehicle or who remembers seeing a car being driven erratically or dangerously that day.”

Anyone who might have seen the incident can contact Pc Bunce at Harwich police station on 0300 333 4444.
