POLICE are appealing for information following a series of burglaries in the Harwich area last week.

Six homes in the town were broken into, and more than �4,000 worth of electrical items and pieces of jewellery were stolen.

Two of the burglaries took place in Gordon Road, with the rest happening in Military Way, Fronks Road, Artillery Drive and Grange Road. Games consoles, flat screen TVs, gold bracelets and rings were among the items taken.

All of the burglaries are believed to have taken place during the day on January 26 and 27.

Dc Bernadette Lord, from Clacton CID, said: “Anyone who has any information which may help this investigation should come forward. If you saw something that didn’t look right, or if you see electronic products or jewellery for sale in suspicious circumstances, please let us know.”

Dc Lord added: “Remember to always lock your doors and windows and keep an eye our for your neighbours, particularly if they are elderly or vulnerable.”

All information in relation to these burglaries can be given to Dc Lord at Clacton police station on 101.
