Fire crews have worked overnight to rescue casualties stuck in vehicles following crashes.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to Wingfield Road, Syleham, at around 2.15am. Appliances from Eye, Harleston in Norfolk and Stradbroke attended.

A male was rescued from the vehicle by the fire crews.

An ambulance spokesman said: “One casualty was treated at scene for slight injuries and left in care of the police.”

Crews in Essex were called to Cliff Road, Harwich, at around 2.20am.

Appliances from Dovercourt attended to find a man trapped in a vehicle on the corner of Main Road and Cliff Road.

They used two sets of cutting equipment to free him by 3.15am.

“We were called at 2.20am sending a response car, two ambulances and a paramedic officer.

“Two casualties treated, a man in his 20s with arm and leg injuries and a second with just minor injuries. Both were taken to Colchester General where their conditions aren’t serious.”
