OFFICERS are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Harwich.

Three teenagers on BMX bikes asked the male victim for a light and while he was searching in his bag, one of the suspects grabbed the bag and cycled away.

The bag contained a Samsung notebook, a Kindle, a Nintendo hard drive, a USB memory stick and various plans and sketches.

The incident happened at around 5.30pm yesterday in Low Road, Harwich.

The suspects are white men, aged 17 to 18 and of skinny build.

The main suspect, who grabbed the bag, was wearing a red T-shirt with a Nike emblem and tracksuit bottoms, while one of the other men wore a black coat which had writing on the back, white trainers and a baseball cap.

Investigating officer Pc Bryan Heath said: “It was fortunate on this occasion that the victim didn’t suffer any injuries, however, we are keen to catch those responsible.”
