Young apprentices in Haverhill have been honoured at an awards ceremony held to celebrate their successes and achievements.

The One Haverhill Partnership Apprenticeship Awards were held at Haverhill pharmaceutical company Sanofi – who were the main event sponsors.

The top award – Apprentice of the Year – was given to Kayleigh Steed of Haverhill Community Sports Association who wowed judges after supporting work to start five girls’ football teams in the town as well as averaging an extra 20 voluntary hours on top of her apprenticeship.

The Apprenticeship Employer of the Year award was given to CXG Group and Nine Jars who currently have six apprentices progressing through the growing business.

One of them, Morgan Jones, was also named the winner of the Overcoming Adversity Award after opting to continue with his apprenticeship at Nine Jars even when his parents moved to Norfolk.
