A garage in Haverhill was demolished after a car drove into it on Wednesday evening.
Police and firefighters were called to the scene, in Lulworth Drive, at about 5.30pm yesterday following reports of a collision.
On arrival, police reported smoke coming from the car and it is believed the driver ran off.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said they have identified the driver and will be interviewing him.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
