Haverhill: Second blaze at Castle Hill Middle School

FIREFIGHTERS have returned to a school which was involved in a massive blaze on Sunday night.

Two crews from Haverhill attended the fire at Castle Hill Middle School in School Lane, at 7.05pm tonight, following reports of smoke and flames.

After arriving on the scene they discovered a small fire in the roof of the sports hall.

Using a hose reel jet the fire was brought under control by 8.45pm.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said officers had been alerted and went to the school, which is thought to have been smouldering following Sunday’s blaze.
