POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses after a teenage girl reported being assaulted by three men.

The girl was walking in the area of Vange Place in Haverhill between 8.30pm and 11.30pm on Thursday when she met three men who asked her to buy them cigarettes.

When she refused she said that she was assaulted by the men.

After the incident she walked to a friends house and reported the incident.

One man has been described as white, in his 20s, of slim build, around 5ft 5ins tall and was wearing white or grey tracksuit bottoms and a grey top.

Another was in his early 30s, white with a tanned complexion and a dirty beard and dark scruffy hair. He was wearing a bowler style hat and a bright coloured jacket with a pattern on.

The third man was described as older, possibly in his mid 40s to early 50s. He was shorter and of bigger build than the others and had a black eye.

Police are urging anyone who was in the around this time to come forward, regardless of whether they think they saw anything of use.

A police spokeswoman said they wanted to hear from anyone who may have seen the teenage girl or three men. during the evening.

Officers are particularly keen a trace a man described as white, around 20-years-old, with a beard, dark coloured hair and glasses who was carrying a carrier bag a carrier bag and spoke to the girl while she was on route to her friends house after the incident.
