Two teenagers were arrested in Haverhill yesterday after a pick-up truck was broken into.

The back window of a blue Ford Ranger was smashed around 5.30pm at a parking area behind industrial units in Homefield Road.

The victim heard the car’s alarm sounding and went to investigate, finding the window smashed and door open. He then saw two people a short distance away who ran off and he pursued them.

Police were called and searched the area, which resulted in the arrests of two teenage boys in connection with the incident.

The boys are both aged 17 years old, from the Haverhill area, and were arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference.

They were taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, to where they have been bailed to return on Sunday, July 13 pending further enquiries.
