A 21-year-old man has been assaulted in Haverhill as he walked past a group of five men.
It happened on Saturday at 1.30am in Strasbourg Square, near the entrance to the underpass.
The victim was walking across the square and as he approached the underpass, he saw a group of five men by the entrance who began walking towards him.
As he walked past the group, he was struck to the back of the head and then suffered a number of punches before being kicked to the ground, at which point the suspects then left.
The victim believes he heard the suspects talking in an Eastern European language.
