Community-owned pub to host first ‘High Summer’ celebration

A historic Suffolk pub which was recently bought by the community, is holding its first summer celebration.
High Summer at The Low House will take place over the weekend of August 3-5.
The pub, which is also known as the King’s Head was taken over by a group of Laxfield villagers this year.
Since then it is reported to have gone from strength to strength – and recently saw radio presenter Paddy O’Connell put in a stint as guest landlord.
The High Summer event will feature local guest beers and ciders served up in the pub garden. Organisers also say there will be acoustic music from blues to folk-punk and “other fantastic entertainment”. The chef is will also cook up a range of “delicious food” in addition to the regular menu.
Acts include The Amazing Insect Circus, Paul & Julie Theaker, Laxfield Community Choir, The Cheeseroom Collective, F&M Music, Tim Ainsley’s Acoustic Blues and James Morgan.
