One lane of the westbound A14 near Higham is closed as police work to clear the debris from a three car collision earlier this morning.

They report the lane is closed between junctions 39 and 40 and that the slip roads to and from Highman are being used to divert traffic.

Fire crews were called to the site of the collision at just after 8.30am following reports that four adults and two children were trapped in the vehicles.

The roof of a car had to be removed to get one person out and some people have been taken to hospital but it is unclear at this stage how many and the extent of their injuries.
