A Stowmarket care home has raised over £200 for a special garden project after opening its doors to the community.

The event, which was held in celebration of National Care Home Open Day, saw friends and neighbours treated to live music and a prize raffle, plus refreshments.

The craft sale and raffle raised over £200, which will be used to help fund the home’s upcoming garden project – an upgrade on the residents’ green area, scheduled for this summer.

Amanda Atkins, manager of Hillcroft House said: “A great time was had by all and everyone enjoyed getting together socially. The residents and our care team would like to thank everyone who came along and supported the event.

“A special word of thanks goes to the families and the staff at Hillcroft House for making this a happy day for our residents. We are also very grateful to those who donated – details on our garden project will be announced shortly!”
