FIRE crews in Essex tackled a caravan blaze at a holiday park today.

FIRE crews in Essex tackled a caravan blaze at a holiday park today.

Clacton and Weeley firefighters were called to Highfields Holiday Park, London Road, Clacton, at around 8.25am.

They arrived to find a static caravan in flames but were able control the blaze using two hose reels before it could spread.

Earlier, Clacton crews helped free a trapped man and woman from a car following a crash in St Johns Road, St Osyth.

Two engines attended the scene, at around 12.45am, where a vehicle had rolled onto its roof. Crews used specialist cutting gear to release them by 1.26am.
