A convicted fraudster who escaped from a prison in Suffolk over the Christmas period has been found.

Andrew Lyones was reported to police as missing from Hollesley Bay on Wednesday, December 27 after he failed to attend a roll call.

The 52-year-old was found in Norwich on Sunday, January 7 and will be returned to the prison system.

Lyones is serving a one year and three-month sentence for fraud.

Officers from Suffolk Constabulary advised members of the public not to approach Lyones when he went missing.

Hollesley Bay is an open prison located near Woodbridge.

The prison faced criticism last month when murderer William Kerr was able to spend nine hours on the loose in Ipswich after he fled during a temporary release.
