Police are trying to trace a prisoner who absconded from Hollesley Bay yesterday afternoon.

Abrar Abbasi, 32, was serving a three year sentence for being concerned in the production of cannabis and driving offences and left the prison around 2pm - 2.10pm.

He was seen getting into a vehicle – thought to be a silver Ford C-Max – and officers are making enquiries to trace the car.

Abbasi is described as 5ft 10ins tall, of medium to heavy build, with short cropped hair, a full beard and brown eyes. At the time he went missing it’s thought he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a black gillet and possibly a grey top underneath.

He has connections to the Walthamstow area, and other areas of east London.
