A Hollesley Bay prisoner who absconded earlier this morning has been recaptured.
Suffolk Police were contacted by the prison at 4.20am this morning reporting that 29-year-old Liam Bourne-Hill was no longer on the premises.
At 8am police received a call from a member of the public who believed they had seen a man matching Bourne-Hill’s description in Bawdsey. The man was detained by officers a short while later between Bawdsey and Hollesley.
Police said Bourne-Hill is now in police custody, from where he will be returned to the prison system.
Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance.
