A prisoner from Hollesley Bay has absconded this morning.
Police want help in tracing William McIvor, 36, who was reported missing from the prison just after 8.30am.
He was last seen at about 6am this morning and later found to be missing at the roll check at 8am.
McIvor, who was serving an indeterminate sentence for robbery, is described as white, about 6ft 4ins, of slight build, with brown hair, green eyes and clean shaven. He has tattoos on his arms.
He has connections in the London and Hertfordshire areas.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen him or anyone with information about where he is to contact police on 101.
People are advised not to approach him or take any further action.
