A prisoner at Hollesley Bay open prison has failed to return after being allowed home.
Leon Brown, 34, is serving a six-and-a-half year sentence for firearms offences and should not be approached if seen.
Police are appealing for help to trace Brown, who was given leave to go to an address in South Ockendon, Essex, on July 21.
He should have returned at 3.30pm today but failed to show up and was reported as missing to police.
He is described as white around 5ft 10in tall with black hair, brown eyes, and is clean shaven. He has connections to the Tottenham area of north London.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen him or anyone with information about where he is now to contact officers. No further action should be taken and he should not be approached.
If you can help please contact Suffolk police or your nearest police station using the national police number 101.
