MOVIE legend Paul Newan has died of cancer at the age of 83.The Oscar-winning star of films such Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid was surrounded by family and close friends when he passed away at his home in Hollywood on Friday evening.

The Oscar-winning star of films such Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid was surrounded by family and close friends when he passed away at his home in Hollywood on Friday evening.
Newman was nominated for an Oscar 10 times, but his only win came in 1987 when he was named best actor for The Color Of Money.
The star's five daughters a paid tribute to their father's "selfless humility and generosity".
"Paul Newman played many unforgettable roles," they said in a statement
His Butch Cassidy co-star Robert Redford said: "I have lost a real friend. There is a point where feelings go beyond words.
"My life - and this country - is better for his being in it."
