A HOMELESS man found dead in Ipswich last month has today been named as Brett Copland.
Mr Copland's body was discovered by police officers in undergrowth on Ranelagh Road on Sunday, July 19 at about 8am.
The 47-year-old's body had started to decompose and officers believe he had been sleeping rough in the bushes before he died.
Police officers on patrol in the Ranelagh Road area of town noticed a smell while walking near to the site.
Police believe Mr Copland's body may have lain in the undergrowth undiscovered for some time.
A post mortem examination carried out proved to be inconclusive.
A spokesman for the coroner's office, based at Ipswich police station, said the cause of death is still unascertainable due to the level of decomposition.
He said Mr Copland is believed to have come from the Sudbury area, and that his parents still live in the town.
