Suffolk-based Hopkins Homes wins Best Medium Housebuilder in the WhatHouse? Awards 2017

Hopkins Homes has been named the Best Medium Housebuilder at this year’s national WhatHouse? Awards at a gala presentation in London.

Shortlisted in two categories, the Suffolk based developer scooped the Gold award for Best Medium Housebuilder and a Silver award for their Prospect Place development in Framlingham as part of the Best Regeneration Project category.

James Hopkins, executive chairman of Hopkins Homes said: “We are all absolutely delighted to be named the Best Medium Housebuilder and to win a second award for our development in Framlingham. WhatHouse? Awards are the UK industry’s most prestigious and widely recognised and to win a Gold and Silver in these categories is a fantastic achievement.”

The judging panel highlighted Hopkins Homes’ reputation for keeping design central to their ethos, saying that the company: “…builds houses with pretty faces that doff the cap to the vernacular, without tumbling into pastiche; enhancing communities too, be it bold new developments or sensitive, restorative work on brownfield sites.”

This will see them distribute £500,000 to charities based in Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire over the next five years. As part of this, £10,000 per year has been allocated to the conservation of war memorials across the region.

Now in its 36th year, the WhatHouse? Awards is the biggest, most prestigious event for the UK’s new homes builders. The awards were announced at the annual gala presentation held at The Grosvenor House Hotel.
