Firefighters spent around an hour rescuing a horse trapped in a water-filled ditch in Suffolk on Saturday.
Three fire engines were called shortly after 5.35pm to help the horse, which was 16 hands tall, after it became stuck around one-metre deep in the ditch on the B1078 in Wickham Market.
A fire brigade spokesman said there was “difficult access” to the horse but said the animal was rescued shortly before 7.10pm after crews used miscellaneous gear to free it.
A fire appliance from Woodbridge, the Unimog from Lowestoft South and the Water Incident Vehicle from Princes Street, Ipswich, were called to the incident.
