A HERD of horses broke through fencing to run free in north Suffolk this morning.
Around 20 horses were sighted by a member of the public on the B1117 between Ubbeston and Laxfield at just before 7.30am.
Police drove out to the road but by the time they arrived the animals had gone.
Officers were stopping motorists in the area today in a bid to locate the herd, which had split into two separate locations.
Locals then reported the horses had found their way back to the field.

“We tried to contact the owners and when we got there there were no horses.”
She added: “The horses were getting out from the fencing.”
