St Nicolas Hospice’s will be running a Christmas tree collection service in the new year.

The initiative, launched last year, will collect festive firs from January 8 to January 12 in the IP28, IP29, IP30, IP31, IP32, and IP33 postcode areas for a suggested donation of £5.

Darren Devine, the charity’s house clearance manager, said: “Last year we had a very busy start to 2017 thanks to our Christmas tree collection service.

“We collected more than 100 trees raising £900 for the charity. We are keen to repeat the success of last year and will offer the service for longer and increase the area we cover.

“We hope everyone will help us raise funds so the hospice”. Book your collection by calling 01284 747622 or visiting www.stnicholashospice.org.uk/news-community/events-listing/christmas-tree-recycling
