SUFFOLK was blessed with a welcome drop of rain today following a scorching weekend.
The showers, which started in the early hours of this morning, are expected to last all day and the expectation is it will continue for the rest of the week. Heavy grey clouds have replaced the blue skies, leaving many to wonder what is in store for the rest of the summer.
Temperatures will also feel cooler this week, with highs of 21 degrees Celsius – a far cry from the very hot 32C seen at the weekend.
The county had been experiencing one of its driest spells, meaning there have been several grass fires.
Fortunately the wet weather held off for the weekend so that the many events planned all went ahead and attracted crowds of people.
