The first ever Saints’ Beer and Folk Festival near Ipswich waterfront was so successful over the bank holiday weekend that the venue was drunk dry!
Organiser Greg Cooper from Beer & Co said the event had been more successful than he could have hoped and he was already starting to think about repeating the event next year.
Hundreds of drinkers had visited St Peters at the Quay for the event – and the folk music session on Friday night had been very successful.
Mr Cooper said: “It was a wonderful weekend and we sold out of beer by the end. We shall certainly be repeating this alongside our other festivals in the town.”
There are a number of themed festivals planned for the area, with the next major event being the Maritime Beer Festival in August.
While beer drinkers and folk fans were heading to St Peter’s, Christchurch Park was the venue for the town’s first ever gin festival over the weekend.
Organiser Neil Farrow said that had also been very successful with people queuing up to taste and find out about the craft gins that were on offer.
