Suffolk police have re-appealed for witnesses to two rural burglaries in Elmswell and Norton.

The first happened between 11.30am and 3.15pm on Thursday, August 2, at a house in Ixworth Road, Norton.

According to a police spokesman, an offender forced entry through some French doors before searching the house and stealing jewellery and watches.

The second burglary happened between 3.30pm and 3.45pm on the same day at a house in Church Road, Elmswell.

“An offender smashed glass in a rear patio door, made an untidy search and stole cash from within,” a police spokesman said.

Police previously released a CCTV image of a man they wished to speak to in connection with two rural burglaries but he has since been identified, interviewed and eliminated from their enquiries.

Police would still like to hear from anyone with dash-cam footage captured in Ixworth Road near to the Norton Dog pub between 11.30am and 3.15pm that day.

Anyone who has any information or dash-cam footage is asked to call Bury St Edmunds CID on 101, quoting reference 43556/18 for the Ixworth burglary and reference 43627/18 for the Norton burglary.

Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or via their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
