An annual open-air festival sparkled in the sun for its crystal anniversary in Ipswich at the weekend.
The 15th Indian Summer Mela unfolded in glorious afternoon sunshine at Christchurch Park on Sunday.
The free celebration of Asian culture was hosted by the Ipswich and Suffolk Indian Association (ISIA).
Live entertainment included a series of vibrant performances featuring Bollywood dances, sari and turban demonstrations, and the eagerly anticipated ‘Mela’s Got Talent’, featuring contestants with an unusual or special gift.
Thousands of people were tempted by the colourful sights and mouth-watering scents – turning out to be entertained, indulge in Indian cuisine, browse vibrant market stalls and be decorative tattooed in henna dye.
Music and dance performances played out on stage as surrounding marquees hosted workshops from cookery to turban tying.
