Year ten students at Tendring Technology College were given a range of inspirational workshops in a bid to boost their confidence and challenge gender stereotypes.
Great Men and Great Women workshops focused on getting pupils to throw off pressure to conform to stereotypes, while Science is a People Thing highlighted options within science and engineering available for women.
Emma-Jane Caris-Hamer, social science curriculum leader, said: “We’re taking a whole school approach to encourage the next generation to challenge stereotypes and reduce the gender gap.”
The day was run in partnership with the Institute of Physics as part of its Improving Gender Balance scheme.
