An Apple bigwig and the head of Ofsted will be among the varied speakers at an international education festival being held in Bury St Edmunds later this year.
Hosted by West Suffolk College, the International Festival of Learning (IFL East) will take place on Friday, June 28 and will see around 1,500 education leaders, teachers, lecturers and business people attend.
The theme of the festival is Education 2030, which is underpinned by the Pearson Future of Skills 2030 Report and embraces a full examination of how uniquely human traits will be needed to interface with artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Speakers such as Chris McFall, Apple’s national education development manager, and Amanda Spielman, Ofsted’s chief inspector, will address delegates as well as the chief executive of the Chartered College of Teaching Dame Alison Peacock, and Darren Henley, chief executive of Arts Council England.
Also speaking is Dr Beth Mosley, who works as a full-time clinical psychologist at Thurston Community College, near Bury St Edmunds, after a pioneering project was launched in partnership with the region’s mental health trust to improve student wellbeing.
