AN investigation is to be carried out into a blaze in a Colchester flat during the early hours of the morning.
Firefighters were called to the first floor property in St Botolph's Street at 4.18am today and found it badly smoke logged and partly alight.
They spent around half an hour extinguishing the flames and an investigation into the cause will be carried out.
Two people who were in the flat got out before the fire crews arrived and were uninjured.
