POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Woodbridge Road.
The incident took place in Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, at approximately 11.20am yesterday.
The female victim was walking on the pavement and approaching North Hill Road, when a man on a black mountain bike rode past her and tried to grab her handbag strap. The offender rode off down Warwick Road.
The victim was not injured from the incident and the handbag was not stolen.
The offender is described as a white man, between 16 and 18 years old, of a slim build, with a fair complexion, approximately 5’8” tall.
He was wearing a black hat, black long sleeved jacket with a diamond pattern and jeans.
Anyone who recognises the description or anyone with information about the incident is asked to call DC Liam Brennan from Ipswich Priority Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
