Bond Girl Mollie Peters, who appeared opposite Sean Connery in Thunderball, has died.
The Ipswich resident, who was born near Bury St Edmunds in Walsham-le-Willows, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, at the age of 75.
Her passing was confirmed by the official James Bond Twitter feed, which shared a photo of the actress and model and said: “Our thoughts are with her family.”
Mollie - whose screen name was spelt Molly - was best known for her role opposite Sean Connery in the 1965 film Thunderball.
Playing nurse Patricia Fearing, she became one of the first Bond Girls to strip off in the film franchise.
Arts editor for this newspaper, Andrew Clarke, interviewed Mollie in 2006.
In the article she said: “I loved being a Bond girl. It was the first film I had done and both the director Terence Young and Sean [Connery] were very patient and friendly with me.
“Sean was gorgeous – a real man’s man. I could have just eaten him up.”
Details about the cause of her death have not yet been released.
