Ipswich: Building evacuated in second bomb scare

A BUILDING was evacuated this afternoon after a second bomb scare in Ipswich in just 24 hours.

Police were alerted shortly before 2pm today when a bag was left near Churchill building on Claude Street.

The area was cordoned off and the bomb disposal squad notified.

But police were stood down shortly after 3pm when it was found the bag contained musical equipment.

Yesterday around 150 people were evacuated from the Town Hall and surrounding following another bomb scare.
