A SECTION of the A12 was closed this evening after a motorist lost control of his vehicle, left the carriageway and ended up in a ditch.
The car, a Vauxhall Astra, had been travelling along the southbound A12 at about 7.40pm when the driver lost control near the Seven Hills junction between Martlesham and Foxhall and ploughed through a hedge, spreading stones across the road.
Police temporarily closed the carriageway for about half an hour while the debris was cleared away.
One lane was reopened by 8.15pm.
Nobody was injured in the accident, which caused delays for some motorists heading south.
