A dog died after being hit by a van this morning in Ipswich.

The incident happened at around 7.35am on Norwich Road, at the junction with Meredith Road.

Police were called with reports that a tanned coloured dog had been hit by a van, which drove off from the scene.

The dog was taken to a local vets by the owners, but died.

The van was described as a white Transit style van.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pc Daniel Peck on 101 quoting CAD 40 of 05/08/14.
